Once known as the Queen-of-Incapable Cooking, Brook has been spotted securing saran wrap with sailor knots, baking a cherry pie without pitting the cherries and coloring unboiled Easter eggs. Frustrated with the lack of a family dinner hour in her home (her husband had opted for large lunches at work), she set out to create a cooking system (much to her husband’s dismay) that would allow her to put great meals on the table quickly.

A CEO, mom, wife, daughter, volunteer, church-goer, author and speaker, Brook’s time is at a premium. Her hunt for the perfect dinner focused on recipes that met the following five Rush Hour Rules…

1. All ingredients are pronounceable through the phonetic use of the English language.

2. Each ingredient can be found in the market without engaging in a full scale scavenger hunt.

3. No list of ingredients shall be longer than the instructions.

4. Each recipe has to be durable enough to survive the Queen-of-Incapable-Cooking.

5. The Rush Hour Cook’s finicky child will eat it—or some portion of it.

The result? Brook created weekly menus that fed her family while eliciting compliments! Now she brings her Weekly Wonder Menus to you, complete with grocery lists, so you can also implement this simple cooking solution in your chaotic kitchen!

 "I like it!" 2006-08-21

I really like the shopping lists. It is nice knowing that after I have been to the store I can prepare a week's worth of menus and I never have to say, "oops, I'm out of..."

That part is great. So far, my husband and the rest of my family are really enjoying the recipes.

 "Cookbooks with Personality" 2006-01-23
By Rebecca Johnson (Washington State)
Brook Noel is delightfully funny and her cookbooks are a result of all the years where she was learning to cook and accomplished tasks with amusing results, like the time she baked a cherry pie without pitting the cherries. Not unlike one of my aunts who made a cherry pie without straining the cherries from a can but can make the best lasagna in the world.

So, everyone has their strengths and Brook Noel is especially good at creating recipes for cooks who don't have a lot of time to spend cooking, but want to get dinner on the table and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment from making a meal at home. After all, you have marathons to run, yoga classes to attend and scrapbooking parties to go to, not to mention decorating, gardening and reading your favorite books and a list of other favorite hobbies and activities.

Weekly Wonders is filled with recipes, weekly menus and grocery lists. If you want to make cooking part of your life, Brook Noel will show you how to get dinner on the table fast and it will also taste delicious. This will encourage family time and give your family a moment to reconnect in a busy world.

Some of the delicious ideas include:

Making your own salad dressings - Buttermilk, Italian, Garlic and more...

Delicious Marinades using fresh herbs - Rosemary-Basil, Red Wine Marinade with Garlic

Making homemade pancakes ahead of time and freezing them. I will admit to doing this and tossing them in the toaster.

Making your own cinnamon applesauce - something I also learned recently and love using Braeburn apples.

Recipes that are easy to adapt to your tastes: Chocolate Banana Smoothie - you could substitute soy butter for the peanut butter. When making the Orange Juice Smoothie, you can also use any fruit you prefer.

Delicious Recipes:

Lasagna Rolls

Rosemary Broccoli

Beef Enchilada Casserole

Tuscan-Style Pork Roast

Ever wondered how long buttermilk lasts or when you should toss the leftover salad dressings? A list of freezer and refrigerator storage dates makes this book even more useful. Recipes like the one for Balsamic Vinaigrette encourages you to learn the basics but also experiment and add your own herbs and spices. Weekly Wonders is a book filled with realistic recipes for cooks who love cooking, but just don't have a lot of time.

Book Noel is an amazing creative force for good in the world, I'm reading all her books.

"I am REALLY cooking!!! And I actually sort of LIKE it!" 2005-10-16
By elviswoman (Dallas, TX United States)
Okay. I have been with my husband for almost 6 years. And during that time, I think I have probably cooked around 40 meals not using a box or frozen prepared item. And I was in complete agony from the moment I attempted to pick a dish to cook, all the way through to washing the dishes. Then, last week my Weekly Wonders book showed up!!!

First off, I thought I hated to cook and thought I would until the day I die. There were always too many expensive wierd ingredients to come up with, the instructions were often too legnthy or cumbersome, I had to spend a LOT of time flipping through pages to write out grocery lists and I would invariably leave something off, or not buy enough, etc. I have TONS of cookbooks, but would pick just a recipe or two to try, then be sick of the whole deal.

This book is different. It's a lifesaver with the grocery lists. I wish there were more books on the market in this format. Because of my aversion to the flipping missing ingredient gathering in individual recipes, I have been sticking to the lists and cooking the entire weekly menus. Some of it did not sound appetizing, but I did it anyway and I am discovering we actually LIKE this food! Not all of it. But we have a pact to eat everything in the name of variety. There is a lot of fresh produce and meat involved in these recipes and so each meal has been an adventure. Quick to cook. Simple steps. Fast. Fairly Tasty. And for crying out loud, I actually have exactly what I need to cook these recipes with, no more and no less! No emergency trips to the grocery store right in the middle of rush hour for one stinking missing item! YAY!

No more going into shock and then a coma with the question "What are we having for dinner?" I know every night before bed what tomorrow's dinner will be! No more chopping for hours and eating at 10 pm! No more boxed frozen crap! No more emergency runs to a burger joint! The number to the pizza place has been removed from speed-dial and it's completely okay!!!

I am so excited to be finally cooking food on a daily basis. I feel like I have reached a semblance of "normal". And my husband is so pleased! Thank GOD for this book! And you too, NOEL. Please make a volume 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6!!!! I WOULD buy them! This is likely to be a Christmas present for all the girls in my family.

The best part about this book is that I can just take the shopping list and not have to think about what I'm going to make for the week. Since the menus are so kid-friendly, my picky family isn't groaning about what I'm cooking anymore.

 "Great tasting, great stats" 2009-12-03
By Bill Loguidice (Central New Jersey, USA)
While I greatly prefer the chocolate flavored Lean Body packets, all of the flavors are pretty good, and overall, I've found the flavor of all other brands of meal replacements and protein powders lacking. This has all the right ingredients, with a great ratio of protein (40+ grams) to carbs and fat - and it's a quality company. I have a shake - typically mixed with 10oz of water (I add creatine and glutamine to the mix as well) - every morning for my breakfast on the way to work (it mixes easily in a shaker). Despite the relatively high price of both box sizes of packets (why can't they offer this loose in a big tub with a scooper?), I wholeheartedly recommend the product.

"tastes GREAT, so good for you!" 2008-08-04
By K. McAllister (Tehachapi, CA USA)
I am carb sensitive, and this is just the ticket for me and my workout routine. After being at the gym, you want to come home and EAT...but who has time? I only use 1/2 of the shake and put it into the blender with two handfuls of ice and some water...just that way it tastes great. On splurge days I'll throw in some frozen berries and WOW, it's SO GOOD. Like a smoothie :)

This is easy to consume (tastes great), easy to digest (I have trouble with this), is loaded with vitamins, etc...so I totally recommend this one :)

Enjoy!

 "Great tasting shake" 2007-04-13
By Kendra
I enjoy one of these shakes every single day. At 240 calories, the shakes have a whopping 40 grams of protein and taste very good. The powder blends easily in water but I use a blender and some ice which makes it just a bit more creamy. The texture is creamy, but not thick and goopy (like myoplex). All in all, one of the better tasting powders-- definitely on par with RTD shakes and at much less money.

 "Excellent for breading!" 2009-04-16
By geordie boy (Florida via UK)
I use this product for breading anything from pork chops to fish. I mix it with parmesan, which drops the carb count (my husband had type 2 diabetes), and dried italian herbs and it makes a great alternative to bread crumbs. We also feel like we are having a treat whilst still eating healthfully and on top of all that, it keeps the meat/fish etc moist!!

 "Most beneficial diet ever!" 2009-07-14
By runnermomof2 (Ohio)
I'm about a month into this plan and have already lost 14#'s. I can really live on this way of eating. I stayed away from Atkins for so long because of negative publicity but what I found out was that people were judging it by the first two weeks only. Once you've passed the critical first phase, you slowly add back in, most of your favorite foods anyway. And you can tweak things like coleslaw to make them carb friendly. This is a great way to eat. I eat fruit, cottage cheese, nuts, and even steak. Best plan I've ever done. I loved this book so much I bought one for my dad!

"Falls short of "Classic" atkins books" 2008-04-08
By Faxer (New York City, NY)
Previous Atkins books went much more into detail the science behind how the low carb diet works. this one just gives a brief overview. The rest of the book is simply recipies and stretching excercies. The Akins books of old were much more informative. I have read all of the diet books written by Dr. Atkins and suggest to anyone interested in his diet to read one of the books he actually wrote. The 2002 edition will surfice.

 "Well-written, accurate, and easy-to-follow" 2008-03-07
By TeacherMom
The low-carb diet has been evolving over the last 10-15 years as the nutritional power and availability of vegetables have increased. I can't understand a dieter like Delores Haze today. I've been on low-carb for 7 years and have almost never had a "hunk o' meat and veg" for dinner. Tonight I had a delicious stir-fry with broccoli, red and white onions, snow peas, grated carrots, large, vine-ripened tomato slices, cut-up chicken sausage and diced fresh chicken from my last evening's dinner. I cook this slowly in extra-virgin olive oil and a splash of canola oil. Absolutely no seasoning is needed. I made a lot and it's a good thing. Both my younger kids had friends over and they had seconds and thirds. "We never get food like this at home" was a typical comment. Interestingly, nobody even noticed that the meal was very low in net carbs. So, my suggestion to Delores is to put a bit of effort into your dieting and you'll be amazed at how much delicious variety you can eat.

I do agree with Delores (and others) who experience headaches a few days into the diet. However, she is incorrect to say that using addiction terminology is wrong. It is, in fact, right on. Just watch very heavy people gorging on ice cream, candy, cake, cookies, and Grape-Nuts (yes, they have a huge amount of sugar disguised as barley malt). Why do they do it? They really need to, physically and mentally. That's addiction. Like all addicts, when they gorge on their addictive substance (that first drink of alcohol, the first bite of ice cream, that big bowl of Grape-Nuts, etc.) they feel great. But we all now what happens down the line. So, get through the headaches (mine came on after three days and did not fully disappear until about ten days). That was seven years ago and I don't remember ever having another headache. I do remember effortlessly losing 65 pounds (it's still all off), controlling my blood pressure without medication, and dropping my frighteningly high fasting triglycerides (over 400) to 89. Oh and my cholesterol did nothing. It was at 155 when I started and it has been at 155 (plus or minus 10) the whole time. With my HDL at 60+, I'm not worried.

Bottom line: If you are creative and determined, the low-carb diet is a very easy one to follow and this book, with all its delicious recipes, sensible advice on exercise, and an excellent overall discussion of why low-carb works is a great place to start.

Following the amazing success of his New York Times bestseller 8 Minutes in the Morning, America's #1 online weight loss specialist Jorge Cruise is back with a revolutionary diet book that keeps with his trademark hassle–free, time–friendly approach.

It's a fact: the low–carb craze is everywhere. Although low–carb diets produce short term weight loss, the results are not sustainable. Dieticians, fitness experts, and medical publications are slowly awakening to the fact that the low–carb diet isn't the answer to weight loss nor a solution to the obesity epidemic. Jorge Cruise's The 3–Hour Diet reveals that timing is the revolutionary weight loss element that has been kept secret until now. By eating small, balanced meals every three hours you reset your body's metabolism and achieve amazing results. Eating every three hours turns off your "starvation protection mechanism" ensuring that fat is released and fat–burning muscle preserved. So get ready to lose 2 pounds each week! All with no calorie counting, no starvation, and no deprivation. Bottom line, timing will sculpt your body slim.

With his now trademark easy–to–follow instructions, accessibility, and client success stories, Jorge Cruise's The 3–Hour Diet is a fluid combination of proven success and categorical innovation. Weight loss has never been easier!

o For overweight people disillusioned with the low–carb craze and other fad diets that don't work or are even unhealthy. Also aimed at people with busy schedules looking to lose weight quickly and effectively, utilizing a dietary approach instead of committing to a workout regimen.

o 8 Minutes in the Morning has sold 1.8K through BookScan.

o The dark side of low–carb diets is only just beginning to rear its ugly head, and this book has the potential to be at the forefront of the low–carb backlash. In this book readers will find:

o Why low–carb and other fad diets make you fat, and why timing is the key to sustained weight loss.

o The Cruise Down Plate approach to eating that supports lean muscle development by eating your favourite foods (including candy and carbs) with no banned items and no calorie–counting. Includes frozen foods and fast food options!

o How to prevent emotional eating.

o A 28–Day Planner designed to promote organization and accountability for the dieter.

o An all–new meal and recipe guide, that is both delicious and healthy.

By D. Hoff
I've been on every diet imaginable and have lost some weight but always put it back on. The book teaches why other diets don't work. I lost 28 pounds in 3 months. I followed the book by eating the proper amount of protein, fat, carbohydrates, and fruit or vegetables at each meal (3 meals a day). I also followed the instructions to eat two 100 calorie snacks between meals and a 50 calorie treat in the evening. I believe the amount listed in the book is also critical to success. Because I am not hungry, I believe that I will have no trouble keeping the weight off. This diet is easy and you can choose the foods you like as long as you follow the guidelines on how much. I bought a food scale and use it daily. I'm really happy to find a diet that I can live with.

My plan is a life style change that will be a permanent change and this balanced, nutritional way of eating will allow that life style change to occur.

The recipes are fabulous for us, as both of us have to be on lower sodium diets. They may need some adjusting for personal taste, depending on whether you like the level of spice or lack of it. All in all a very good basic cookbook for those needing quick and healthy family meals. Her other cookbook is just as good for us. I recommend them both very highly.

 "Makes Healthy Eating Easy" 2008-12-27
By jersey girl (New Jersey, USA)
Owned this cookbook since 1993 and since shared it as a gift to many. This book and it's sequel (Volume II) make healthy eating easy for beginners and also for busy people.

Many recipes in this book are still staples in my cooking routine. I always have the ground turkey version of the ''Baked Meatballs'' in my freezer. I've shared the ''Cream Cheese Topping'' recipe with everyone I know. Except that I only use 1 Cup of skim milk instead of 2. It makes a quick, easy Frosting for any cake that no one would guess is totally fat and sugar free. ''Salmon Cakes'' are always an easy dinner. And the Focaccia Pizza tastes better than takeout with a lot less fat content.

I've since added Evelyn Tribole's ''Healthy Homestyle'' Cookbooks, along with these, to my list of all time favorites. They are all very dogeared. They also make great gifts for family and friends who are into healthy foods that really taste terrific.

Imagine being on a diet and starting the day with a pecan waffle, snacking on Macadamia Fudge and finishing dinner with Chocolate Crème Brulee-- and still staying on a low-carb, healthy and slimming routine.

Impossible?

Not since the release of the revolutionary new cookbook "Low-Carb Sweets and The Art of Self-Indulgence" by Sharon Allbright.

This author spent four year of research to break the "deprivation-barrier" of low-carb dieting and managed to eliminate sugar and flour by replacing them with delicious, health-building ingredients.

The former health columnist came up with more than 80 groundbreaking desserts to "diet for." The best news is that these indulgences are not only delicious, but also high in protein, rich in fiber and contain less than five grams of carbohydrates. This is an extraordinary feat, considering that a regular piece of chocolate cake can contain as many as 60 grams of carbohydrates.

The 216 pages of sweet creations range from waffles to pies and contain not a smidgeon of ingredients that cause sugar binges or weight gain. Some of these recipes have even been tested by diabetics who were delighted to report that the treats didn’t raise their blood sugar levels.

The "Zero Carb Waffle" is a "breakfast wonder" with more protein than two eggs and boosts your fiber intake beyond that of two pieces of whole-wheat toast.

According to the author, "These recipes are not only simple to make but also time friendly." In fact, the Macadamia Fudge can be put together in less than five minutes, in case of an emergency "chocoholic attack!"

This project has been a long labor of love for Allbright, who confesses, "I love sweets-- but eating old-fashioned flour and sugar-filled desserts caused uncontrollable binges, blood sugar plunges and of course, weight gain."

The second segment of this unique book, "The Art of Self Indulgence," came to light through the author’s experiences with this seemingly utopian eating style. "It turns out that years of dieting can make one feel guilty eating sweets-- healthy or not," reports the new "Queen of Low Carbs"

Tips on breaking barriers of self-denial make this not only a soul-satisfying cookbook, but also a plan that can transform dieting to a "sweeter way of life."

"Awesome book! A MUST for low carb people who love to bake!" 2009-05-04
By Love2Shop (Pittsburgh, PA)
Don't listen to that complainer - this book is amazing! I've been doing the low carb thing for about 2 years and I don't know how I made it without this book! The recipes are easy and yummy. All of the more "special" ingredients can be bought for reasonable prices on www.purityproducts.com.

The Poppy Seed Lemon Cookies that other person complained about are AMAZING with fresh lemon zest (that person must be a lousy baker!). When you try the zero carb waffles, you'll feel like you're cheating! The Cheesecake Pie is insane (hint - add some strawberries on top). Everyone will love the spiced walnuts too. I've even taken some of the ideas and come up with new recipes.

If you take your low carb diet seriously and miss baking, this book is for you. No overly expensive ingredients either. Thanks for a great book, Sharon. Please write some more for us!

As someone currently following the reduced carb lifestyle....I love this book. Tonight I made the Walnut Streusel Muffins and served them with coffee to my non-carb watching family. Yep, they had no idea that they were eating something first of all that was healthy and second of all, sugar-free and only 2.5 carbs. I have so many favorites in this book that I could not choose only one favorite. I was pleased that with buying a few key ingredients you can make almost all the recipes in the book. The author gives a very clear description of exactly what ingredients you need to begin this fun journey. I learned quite a bit about soy powders and the different types. I could not say enough things about this book!

 "The psyllium pits!" 2005-05-18
By Jen (Chicago, Il USA)
The recipes were the pits. They consist of hard to find ingredients. When you finshed reading the recipe it didn't even sound like it would be satisfying. The recipes call for flaxseed and psyllium for baking. I think psyllium is one of the main ingrediants in Metamucil. What are flaxseeds? Sorry that does not spark my appetite. This is just my personal opinion.

 "Disappointing and outdated" 2005-02-14
By Shopper in Richmond (Richmond, VA)
I was disappointed with this book. A limited ingredient list is used over and over in some uninspiring combinations; nearly every recipe relies on either soy protein powder or whey protein powder, and neither one in my experience results in desserts that taste like *the real thing*.

The only two sweeteners used are sucralose and stevia. No mention is made of other popular sugar alcohols like maltitol, xylitol, and erythritol. The book was published in Feb. 2003, maybe these sweeteners weren't as readily available then...

 "Low-Carb Lifestyle Made Easy" 2006-01-18
By Rebecca Johnson (Washington State)
Tod Dimmick books are beyond helpful; they are also fun, creative and realistic. With nearly 250 recipes, Tod has branched out into the Low-Carb lifestyle. Each recipe also provides a complete nutritional analysis for carbs and protein.

The Italian Herb Omelet is delicious to make and has no carbohydrates, so if you skip the toast, you are already ahead of the game for the day. The "Magic Eggs" chapter brightens up your morning with recipes that include healthy ingredients like baby spinach (more like adding herbs than spinach) and portobello mushrooms and salmon.

By rolling roast beef up in watercress there is no need for rolls and the tuna salad wraps encourage you to enjoy tuna without bread. By just changing one aspect of a recipe, Tod succeeds in cutting out the carbs or making the recipe very low carb.

Some of the delicious recipes include:

Rosemary-Lemon Halibut

Sesame-Scallion Chicken Stir-Fry

Quick-Grilled Beef Satay

White Beans with Olive Oil, Gorgonzola, and Fresh Sage

Grilled Vegetable Kebabs

Iceberg Nests with Avocado, Bacon, and Tomato

Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes

Sherried Pears

Tod Dimmick's books always provide delicious recipes that don't take long to prepare. The extra information sections also enlighten and entertain.

"Useful, delightful, but not strictly LOW carb recipes" 2005-06-18
By A. Ryan (Westminster, CA USA)
Along comes another LC cookbook, sayeth the powers at Amazon, and lo I buy and test; for such is the compulsion of the dieting reviewer.

Not normally someone to pick up the books with titles that suggest I may have lower-than-average intelligence (guilty conscience perhaps?), nevertheless I couldn't resist the allure of "quick and easy". Tod Dimmick has written a cookbook that promises several things in the introduction:

* Use high-quality, low-carb ingredients

* Keep it simple

* Call for accessible ingredients

* Avoid processed foods

* Take advantage of quick cooking methods

* Keep an eye on saturated fat

* Control expense

* Add in fun and flavor

My job, as I see it, is to test how well these promises are carried out by actually performing the recipes in my average home kitchen. This time I tried four appetizers, three breakfasts (aside from the ever-present omelet recipes that *every* LCCB has, and which I am tiring of rapidly; besides, it's hard to mess up a basic egg/meat/veggie recipe if your cooking method is good), two seafood main courses, a meat loaf, a kid-friendly chicken dinner, a salad and three dessert selections. Additionally, there were a few dozen recipes that were so similar to recipes from other LCCBs that I didn't even need to try them yet again to know exactly how they would turn out - simple and classic dishes that are universally LC, like grilled steak with seasonings, wine, and butter or roasted veggie side dishes. In all, I feel confidently familiar with at least half of the recipes in TCIGTQ&ELCM.

My verdict: this book lived up to its promises, mostly. There were few enough ingredients, easy to understand instructions, and everything was fresh, unprocessed, inexpensive and accessible at my supermarket. Vegetables were emphasized in most main dish recipes, putting an end to the myth that LC means lacking nutrition and variety. There was a lot of leeway in choosing cuts of meat based on personal preference and budget. Nearly everything had a built-in guarantee of good flavor because that is what you get when you use a very few fresh, unprocessed ingredients in simple recipes that call for quick cooking methods. Looked at that way, it's hard for this cookbook to fail.

As for being low carb, my impression is that about half of the overall recipes were truly a traditional, Atkins-style low carb, the other half is what might be called "good carb", of the kind that you might find on a South Beach diet, for instance. I suppose that somebody on a "good carb" type diet would have no trouble with the low carb dishes, but a traditional Atkins dieter would have to stay away from the "good carb" recipes for sure. Some high-carb fruits were called for frequently in the breakfast and dessert sections: also, unprocessed bran was used as a substitute for many starchy things including bread crumbs, and while that's okay for some LC diets, it's troublesome for Atkins and Paleo diets. That does limit a strict low-carber severely, and it was a little disappointing to me, given the title that promised *low* carb. I just wish that the Good Carb and Low Carb recipes were marked as such.

I can sincerely rave that I loved what I tried (exceptions: anything that tried to imitate bakery items that are normally made with wheat flour. The pancake and cookie recipes blew chunks IMHO. Sorry Mr. Dimmick, but soy flour and other LC bake mixes just don't taste right). Even where it wasn't terribly original, this cookbook can't be faulted for taking advantage of the tried-and-true. Sometimes all I needed was a reminder that yes, stuffed peppers can be translated low carb, and that Oh yeah, classic salsa and hot artichoke dips are ready-made as low carb. What can I say, there is a fine line between Id__t and genius.

 "Delicious and Quick" 2005-06-04
By Lisa Shea
I was really impresed by the Idiot's Guide to low carbing. Where certain other low carb books are thinly veiled attempts to bash the lifestyle, the Idiot's Guide explains why this way of life is so healthy.

The book is primarily full of great low carb recipes. There are breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, desserts, and even an entire section dedicated to kid-friendly meals.

These aren't obscure meals that take a gourmet to appreciate. They are quick, easy, and very tasty. You get a lightning chicken stew, almond oatmeal cookies, meatloaf, chicken marsala, and tostadas. There are meals for vegetarians, meals for steak-lovers, and everyone in between.

There's also information on low carbing, if you somehow got this book without knowing what a low carb diet is about. There's background information about carbs, about how our modern diet is overloaded with sugar. It encourages you to eat fresh fruits and veggies, to find balance in your food.

"An Idiot's For Smart People!" 2005-05-04
By Jana L. Perskie (New York, NY USA)
In a motivated mood, I asked my doctor recently to give me a good diet plan so I could take off many unwanted pounds. He didn't skip a beat. He told me that a healthy, balanced diet with low carbohydrate intake and daily exercise works. I have been at it for over three months now and the results in terms of pounds and inches lost are excellent. What a great way to lose weight, in a healthy manner, with a minimal amount of suffering. I am not feeling hungry, although I still long for certain foods. Thus, I have been experimenting with various low carbohydrate recipes, as I have grown a little bored with broiled meats, fish, omelettes and plain salad.

Tod Dimmick's "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Quick and Easy Low-Carb Meals" is more than worthy of your attention if you are looking for good tasting food and meals with low carb counts. The book is designed for people on the go, who do not aspire to be Julia Child, and wish to adhere to a low carbohydrate lifestyle. All the recipes in this book, (almost 250), can be prepared in 20 minutes or less. From stocking your pantry through terrific ways to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, snacks - there are choices galore to make your meals more exciting and interesting. Low carb doesn't have to mean "deprived." There is even a section for kids, who are difficult to tempt, especially when their friends are gorging on fast foods.

I have had the cookbook for a little over a week and checked-out the chapters on fish, white meat, beef and lamb, bean cuisine, salads, veggies and desserts. So far, I have made: Low-Carb French Toast with Fresh Strawberries (yum!), Low-Carb Toasted Almond Wheat Cereal, and Florentine Scramble for breakfast; Ham and Swiss Roll-Ups, Turkey, Arugula and Almond Roll-Ups, an Open-Faced Tomato and Provolone Sandwich, and a Tuna Salad Wrap for lunch; Ginger Scallops, Broiled Lemon-Rosemary Chicken with Green Beans and Almonds, Red Beans and Rice, Herbed White Beans with Baby Spinach and Meatloaf for dinner; and Cheater' Crustless Chocolate Cheesecake (outrageous!), and Chocolate Chip Cookies. Needless to say, I feel much more motivated and less restricted as far as food is concerned.

I also want to add that exercise is so important in the weight loss process. Even walking for a half hour everyday will help considerably. I highly recommend this cookbook. It will help you to enjoy the process of becoming a slimmer, healthier person. Good luck and ENJOY!
